Thank you for your interest in requesting a Group Tour at UMMA. Please take a moment to complete the following questions so our staff can best serve your needs and ensure a good experience.
UMMA can help UM instructors organize self-guided tours for their classes or arrange tours guided by our well-trained docent corps, education department staff, or UMMA curators.
To make strong connections to the curriculum, teachers are welcome to request a docent tour with a specific focus, including a particular exhibition or work of art. Young students tour the Museum in small groups and are encouraged to discover their own relationship with the art.
Families with children are invited to look, learn, and create together.
Adult groups of 10 or more are invited to select from a menu of special guided tours with a suggested donation of $25 per docent. In addition to the collections-based tours, architecture tours highlighting the story of the Museum's recent transformation as well as its history are available.
Lively conversation and active looking are features of Docent-led UMMA public tours. Tours are free of charge, are available on a drop-in basis, and last between 45 and 60 minutes. Upcoming tours are listed here.
When you arrive be sure to pick up a Visitor Guide, which includes floor plans. To ensure the best experience for all gallery visitors, please schedule your self-guided tour three weeks in advance.
