This bold, simple, and enigmatic painting captures some of the mystery of art and the essence of creative process itself.

I love the dynamism, moodiness, and centeredness of this piece.

Abstract expressionism, Kline and Hawkins Ferry....my favorites! I'll be in Ann Arbor for an AAUM board meeting in May and can't wait to see the reopened museum. Congratulations!

The more I look at this piece, the more alive it becomes. Initially, I saw a set of eyes staring back at me, but then I discovered roads and saw movement through the brush strokes. This is a painting you can look at for hours and forget that it is paint, and instead find your imagination.

Giovanni Queens, New York

I like this painting because the gestures give me the impression of violent waves crashing against a pier.

Laura Fisher Ann Arbor, MI

I've always been drawn to the depth and structure Kline creates with such minimal means. Girders, buildings, streets, city movement - all evinced with such broad strokes and so few colors. Wonderful.

Linda Place Ann Arbor, MI

Despite an intitial impression of simplicity, the underlying subtle complexity is what draws me back again and again to this work.
