Looking Good: You Can Now Browse Curated Products from the UMMA Shop Online

Whether you need gifts for your best friend, your kids, or the office gift exchange–or just a little treat for yourself!–the U-M Museum of Art has got you covered. Just in time for the holidays, you can now browse a specially curated collection of items from the UMMA Shop online, with even more to discover in person.

Many products currently in stock, such as Japanese ceramic bowls, are inspired by the current exhibition Clay as Soft Power: Shigaraki Ware in Postwar America and Japan. The Shop also has a variety of gourmet ramen packs (to put those bowls to good use!), along with various Japanese condiments, and ramen cookbooks.

Other products, such as mugs and notebooks, feature famous faces like Vincent van Gogh and Frida Kahlo. For the aspiring painters out there, the shop also has watercolor palettes and brush pens, as well sketchbooks and coloring books with thick paper meant for paint.

Online visitors can call or email the Shop with their order and arrange for in-store pickup.

“We think the UMMA Shop is a real hidden gem among shopping options in Ann Arbor,” said Neil Van Houten, UMMA’s Retail Operations Manager. “So, we’re very excited to be able to offer this online browsing experience for people in the area to get a sense of some of the great finds available in the store.”

“We’re a very small team, so managing online ordering and shipping with the same level of fantastic customer service our visitors have come to expect from the UMMA Shop is difficult–this is a nice middle ground that really helps bring the Shop to life online for new people to discover while also allowing us to continue to offer great service to visitors.”

UMMA Members can also get a discount applied at checkout–plus an exclusive free tote bag gift!–when visiting the Shop from December 2nd to December 4th, as part of UMMA’s Member Discount Days. Becoming an UMMA Member is always free.

The UMMA Shop is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. through 5 p.m. All purchases support the Museum’s initiatives and programs.

Take some of UMMA home with you.
As a treat.
