Zell Visiting Writers Series: Fiction Author David Haynes

David Haynes is emeritus professor of English at Southern Methodist University and the author of twelve novels. His most recent novel, A Star in the Face of the Sky, explores two families wrestling with the aftermath of family and political violence. Haynes co-founded and serves as the Board Chair for Kimbilio, a community committed to fiction writers from the African diaspora.

The Zell Visiting Writers Series is a reading series presented by the Helen Zell Writers’ Program in partnership with the University of Michigan Museum of Art, with support from the Department of English Language & Literature, the Office of the Vice President for Research, and Janey Lack.
