The Mark Webster Reading Series: Kabelo Sandile Motsoeneng (fiction/nonfiction), Sara Abou Rashed (poet)

All readings will be available to watch simultaneously via Zoom: tinyurl.com/WebsterSeries

The Mark Webster Reading Series presents emerging writers in a warm and relaxed setting. MFA second-year students in fiction and poetry, each introduced by a peer, will share a sample of their work. Friends, family, and members of the Ann Arbor community are welcome to attend the readings both in-person and synchronously on Zoom.

Kabelo Sandile Motsoeneng is a South African writer. He holds a degree in English and Human Rights Studies. His fiction and nonfiction appears in Joyland Magazine, Prairie Schooner, Lolwe, and Kinfolk.

Sara Abou Rashed is a Palestinian poet, storyteller, and public speaker. Her work appears in Poetry Magazine, Poetry Wales, and Arab Lit Quarterly, among others. She calls Columbus, Ohio, home and hopes the darkness she often writes about of occupation and war ultimately shines some light in the world.

Organized by the MFA in Creative Writing Program and presented in partnership with the University of Michigan Museum of Art. For questions or accommodation needs, contact co-hosts Jen Galvao (jgalvao@umich.edu) or Urvi Kumbhat (urvik@umich.edu).
