Timed-Entry Reservations Are Required
All visitors will be asked to complete a health screening at check-in.

Timed-entry reservations available every 30 minutes unless fully booked. You will need to enter UMMA within that 30 minutes, but your visit may last as long as you wish.

August 5 - August 8

Starting August 12, 2021, timed-entry reservations will no longer be needed. UMMA will be open to the public for walk-in visits. ResponsiBlue Health Screening will still be required. Masks will still be required for individuals not fully vaccinated. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Group size is limited to 10. Each person in the group will need a reservation. This can be easily done when making your reservation by selecting the number of tickets equal to the number of people in your group.

Your timed-entry reservation is good for 30 minutes. You will need to enter UMMA within the 30 minutes of your reservation or you will forfeit your scheduled time. You will need to make new reservations for the next available time in order to visit the Museum.

We recommend you try to limit your stay to two hours to avoid congestion in the galleries. However, you may stay as long as you wish until galleries close.

For fully vaccinated individuals, masks are optional. Masks are required for those who have not completed a full course of Covid-19 vaccinations.

The ResponsiBLUE health screening will be required for all visitors and involves answering a few, quick questions about your health and recent COVID-19 exposure risk. Your check-in host will walk you through the process, it will take less than one minute.

Depending on the time of your visit, the UMMA Shop will be open. Please visit to shop our collection.

The UMMA Cafe is closed until Fall 2021.

No. Food and beverage are not allowed in UMMA galleries and you will be asked to consume or discard any food or beverage items before entering the Museum.

There is metered street parking around the Museum, which is in a walkable neighborhood with restaurants and shopping nearby. Two municipal structures are approximately two blocks away:

Maynard Parking Structure

650 South Forest Avenue
On the corner of South Forest Avenue and Willard Street one half block south of South University Avenue

University of Michigan employees with a UM parking permit will find the Thompson Street structure the closest to the Museum, with the Hill Street, Thayer Street, and Forest Avenue structures all within walking distance. Please note that many University parking structures are free and open to the public after 6 pm each day. All of UMMA’s public areas and galleries are wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis. Please ask your check-in host for assistance borrowing a wheelchair upon arrival.
