Request a University Engagement

Thank you for your interest in adding an UMMA experience to your course!

Use the form below to request an UMMA experience for your class. We have virtual and in-person options available. Our staff looks forward to working with you! 

Planning a University Engagment

  • Gallery Tours: Unlimited (but groups larger than 25 may be split up for better viewing or asked to come during their section times)
     
  • Study Rooms: Up to 25 students
  • Gallery Hours:
    • Tuesday - Wednesday: 11AM to 5PM
    • Thursday - Friday: 10AM to 8PM
    • Saturday - Sunday: 11AM to 8PM
       
  • Self-Guided: You are welcome to visit during gallery open hours. Letting us know of your visit in advance allows us to see if other groups also plan to use the galleries at the same time. 
     
  • Guided: ​​By appointment, guided tours of UMMA’s collection galleries and special exhibitions.
     
  • If your class occurs outside of open gallery hours, please submit a request at least four weeks in advance so proper arrangements can be made.
  • Available Monday - Friday, 9-5pm, or by special arrangement
     
  • Instructors and Researchers can request access to objects not on display in the galleries for viewing in our study rooms. Reservations need to be made at least three weeks in advance. 
     
  • Instructors and Researchers must defer to UMMA staff regarding any factors that may make an artwork unavailable for display (UMMA will inform Instructors and Researchers of unavailable works at least one week before the visit). Reasons that a work might be unavailable include:
    • the work is offsite
    • the work is in need of conservation
    • the work is not prepared for display
    • the work exceeds size limitations:
      • Object Study Room: 36” tall x 60” wide / 50 lbs. (3D objects)
      • Paper Study Room: 36” x 40” (works on paper)/ 41” x 46” (paintings)
  1. Complete the online University Engagement Request form below, listing your preferred dates and start time. For Guided visits, please submit requests at least three weeks in advance.
     
  2. You will receive an automatic reply that it has been submitted.
     
  3. UMMA staff will manually schedule your visit. We will do our best to honor your preferred date. 
     
  4. You will receive a personalized email confirmation that includes detailed preparation information. Note: Your visit is not officially scheduled until you receive this confirmation. 
     
  5. One weeks prior to your tour, we will ask you to confirm that all details for your class visit are correct.
