UMICH VOTES Fellow
Help your peers participate in democracy and navigate the voting process!
Be a UMICH Votes Fellow for the Fall 2024 election cycle!
As a UMICH Votes Fellow you’ll play a critical role in supporting voter participation on campus. You’ll be part of a cohort of 20 Fellows working together to welcome students at the campus voting hubs at UMMA and in the Duderstadt Gallery. You’ll provide non-partisan resources and guidance for voters whether they plan to vote in Ann Arbor (on site with our City Clerk) or in their home districts.
U-M students from all disciplines are welcome and encouraged to apply to be a UMICH Votes Fellow (you do not need to be eligible to vote in the US). UMICH Votes Fellows positions are eligible for work-study.
- Attend cohort training and gatherings. Work an average of 10 hours per week when the campus voting hubs are open September 24- November 5, Mon-Fri 11-7.
- Participate in pre-election training and regular cohort meetings.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere. You’ll greet visitors to these civic spaces and orient them to the voting process, here in Ann Arbor or elsewhere.
- Provide accurate non-partisan guidance to your peers. You’ll learn about registration and voting rules so that you can guide students to resources that student voters need.
