Matthew Wong Foundation Research Assistant in Modern and Contemporary Art
Partner with UMMA Curators to develop an upcoming exhibition!
Funded by the Matthew Wong Foundation, the Research Assistant in Modern and Contemporary Art will assist with curatorial research and departmental administrative tasks, reporting to the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art
Responsibilities will include:
- Researching the history of UMMA’s modern and contemporary art collection,
- Object-based research in preparation for future collection displays
- Assist the curators of Asian Art and Modern and Contemporary Art in the development and implementation of a co-curated exhibition
This position will benefit advanced students who desire experience in curatorial research, exhibition development, and museum administrative work. Prior museum experience is not required, but successful applicants should have taken at least one advanced-level (300 or higher) art history course by the start of employment.
