Research Assistant in Asian Art
Work closely with UMMA’s Curator of Asian Art and take a deep dive into UMMA’s collection!
The Research Assistant in Asian Art will assist curatorial research and administrative tasks, reporting to the Curator of Asian Art. Responsibilities will include:
- Collection research
- Writing and data entry related to collections research and permanent gallery interpretations
- Assist with gallery tours as needed
Prior museum experience is not required, but successful applicants should have taken at least one advanced-level (300 or higher) art history course by the start of employment. It is preferred that candidates have reading skills in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean.
This position is perfect for students who want to gain experience in curatorial and museum administrative work. In addition, by closely working with the Curator of Asian Art, they will acquire research skills and art historical knowledge in Asian art
