Zell Visiting Writers Series: Distinguished Writer in Residence Craig Santos Perez – Reading and Q&A
Join us in welcoming writer Dr. Craig Santos Perez for a reading and Q+A as part of the Zell Visiting Writers Series, presented by the Helen Zell Writer’s Program in partnership with UMMA, with support from the Department of English Language & Literature.
Dr. Perez is an indigenous Chamoru from Guam. He is the co-editor of nine anthologies and the author of seven books of poetry and the academic monograph, Navigating Chamoru Poetry: Indigeneity, Aesthetics, and Decolonization.
Zell Visiting Writers Series readings and Q&As are free and open to the public and will be offered both virtually (via Zoom) and in person (in UMMA’s Stern Auditorium). Seats are offered on a first come, first served basis; please arrive early to secure a spot. Dr. Craig Santos Perez
Dr. Craig Santos Perez is an indigenous Chamoru from Guam. He is the co-editor of nine anthologies and the author of seven books of poetry and the academic monograph, Navigating Chamoru Poetry: Indigeneity, Aesthetics, and Decolonization. He has received the National Book Award for Poetry, American Book Award, Pen Center USA/Poetry Society of America Literary Prize, Hawaiʻi Literary Arts Council Award, Nautilus Book Award, and the George Garrett Award for Outstanding Community Service in Literature from the Associated Writing Programs.
