Description

In Bologna from the time of the Carracci family of painters, accomplished artists typically returned to the Academy to draw directly from the nude. This drawing shows a seated model portraying Hercules; a Bolognese drawing by another artist in a private collection in Montreal depicts the same man in a different pose and holding this very club.
