Description
Subject Matter:
During the early 50s, Saito Kiyoshi focused on simplification. He found that simplification could be found in Japanese culture and explored it using subjects of Japanese cultural significance. In this instance, he uses Nara, a city full of old temples and art.
Physical Description:
This print depicts an enclosed city space with a cat. Using primarily browns, blacks, and whites, this print includes a lot of texture as well. There is a signature on the bottom left corner with a red seal.
