Description

Subject Matter:

A photograph from a portfolio of images in which Helmut Newton depicts celebrities, designers and models in highly contrived poses and often placed in decadent scenes. In this photograph, the artist Andy Warhol rests with eyes closed and a relaxed jaw, hands clutched on his chest. The viewer has looks down on the passive figure of Warhol. This photograph was made in Paris and was the cover of the first issue of Helmut Newton Illustrated: Sex and Power.
