Description

Subject Matter:

Marilyn Bridges describes the markings and monuments that she photographs from above as “the messages of humankind.” As a pilot and photographer, she documents contemporary landscapes connected to ancient times, which addresses the human relationship to the earth and environment. This photograph depicts the Archaic Temple or the Archaic Doric Temple, also known as the Temple of Apollo, in Corinth, Greece. It is one of the few ruins remaining in a city that was almost completely destroyed. This image depicts the seven columns that remain standing.
