Lucien Clergue; Roland Dufau
Description
Subject Matter:
Clergue first began to experiment with color photography in 1975. This image, a "self-portrait," offers a very abstract field of reflected light. The center of the composition appears as if it may contain Clergue's obscured figure surrounded by the red line referenced in the title.
Physical Description:
An abstracted color photograph of reflected lights against a black surface. Griege-green fields of color appear at the bottom, moving up toward the center of the composition. A red line in the center of the composition frames a possible figure outlined in white light.
