Description

Subject Matter:

Braid is an etching of Diana Michener's hair. She was Dine's partner at the time and later they married. In the print the braid is standing alone as a representation of her. In other prints, Dine has made art using tools as models to represent a childhood nostalgia and memory for the hardware store his father owned. This braid is similar in that it is meant to evoke the emotions of his relationship.

Physical Description:

This almost photo-realist like print shows a long, thin braid of hair tied at either end. At the bottom of the print is the single word in all capital letters, "BRAID".
