Description

Subject Matter:

Lombard summered in Monhegan, Maine and developed much of his aesthetic and subject matter there. Monhegan was a well known artist colony that had existed since the mid-nineteenth century. Lombard fills the composition with three large and intruding objects. There isn't much space in the composition. The dominant presence of all three objects intersect at a central focus.
