Description

Subject Matter:

This cover of Alfred Stieglitz's Camera Work, issue no. 45, contains the text: "Camera Work / A Photographic Quarterly / edited and published by / Alfred Stieglitz New York / Number XLV / MDCCCCXIV". The title and description are emphasized with a rectangular graphic element surrounding the stylized graphic font. Circular graphic elements appear after the title, Camera Work, and before and after "edited and published by." One appears above the word "Camera." The issue number and year appear in Roman numerals in the right margin, toward the bottom. This issue contains text essays on art and culture and photogravures.
