Description

Subject Matter:

Cameron House is the second print in a portfolio of twelve photographs that depict the former gold town Bodie, California. This view comprises the side of a house, named for its early residents, as well as the front porch of an adjacent building. The A-frame of the Cameron House arcs upward into the sky, dramatizing the appearance of what is otherwise a modest structure. Tice photographed it from behind and below a bank of bushes and other wild plants, emphasizing that the town and its structures are now beholden to and a part of the natural landscape.

Physical Description:

A photograph of the side of one wooden house and the front porch of another, with bushes in the foreground.
