Description

Subject Matter:

Marilyn Bridges describes the markings and monuments that she photographs from above as “the messages of humankind.” As a pilot and photographer, she documents contemporary landscapes connected to ancient times, which addresses the human relationship to the earth and environment. This photograph depicts an aerial view of a cinder cone in Andagua Valley, Peru. Andagua Valley is the Valley of the Volcanoes with over eight cinder cones covering the river valley. The mounds range from 50 to 150 feet in height.
