Description

Subject Matter:

This print, part of Pascin's Cinderella Series, shows Cinderella before the fire in the early part of the story. At this point, she is living in an undesirable and oppressive circumstance. Later in the tale, her life is transformed positively with the help of myth or magic—depending on the version of the tale—and she eventually marries a prince or king and lives a happy life afterwards.

Physical Description:

This is a picture of a girl with shoulder-length hair and bangs, and round features. She wears a loose light-colored garment that hangs off her shoulders. She is barefoot and is squatting with her elbows resting on her legs.
