Subject Matter:
One of the later contributions to his "Black & White" series, this print shows his engagement with optical illusions in order to create the visual effects of three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional surface. This piece of Op Art uses basic shapes, which would later develop into what Vasarely calls "letters," which become the foundation of his own visual language.
