Description

Subject Matter:

Francis Bedford was an acclaimed British landscape photographer with a background in illustration. His photographs seek to balance the natural and man-made worlds. This photograph depicts the historic fishing village of Clovelly, which is nestled in a harbor in Devonshire, England. Laundry hangs on a clothesline between two houses, while a woman stands in a doorway on the right.
