Description

Subject Matter:

This print consists of three figures in colorful clothing who seem like they are celebrating with treasure. One figure in the center is sitting in a vase filled with gold and treaure, with the words "treasure vase" printed on it, while holding a banner that means "vast gathering of wealth." There is one figure on each side of the center figure, and they are looking up towards the seated figure. In front of them is a tower of gold ingots with the word "good fortune and happiness" on it. This seems to be a Chinese New Year poster print that families would hang up in their house in hopes of welcoming good fortune and riches to a family in the new year.

Physical Description:

Image of two figures holding a vase or jar upon which another figure sits. All are wearing green, orange, and red robes. The figure that is sitting is holding a red banner and is surrounded by gold and other kinds of treasure. In the foreground, there is a tower of gold ingots.
