Description

This type of white ware was excavated in the remains of an early 12th century dwelling site located in ChÅ-lu county of Hopei province. The site was covered over with silt caused by a flood in 1108 and was rediscovered in 1920. The silt sifted through the cracks of the transparent glaze, resulting in a yellowish stain on the objects.

Physical Description:

A tall, round bowl with a foot at the bottom and a lid that starts out flat but then becomes a rounded top. It is white with some yellow coloring.
