Doorway, Hamilton, Nevada
Alan Ross
Description
Subject Matter:
This photograph of a dilapidated house in Hamilton, Nevada presents a surreal coexistence between interior and exterior spaces. Although the photograph seems to have been taken from inside the structure, there is no roof or door on the house to distinguish it as an interior space. The oblique angles of the walls stand in sharp contrast to the doorway, which is parallel with the picture plane. This opening offers a glimpse of an idyllic landscape with sunny skies that seems untouched by the conditions that befell the building that frames the view.
Physical Description:
Photograph from the inside of a crumbling structure, looking through an open doorway.
