Subject Matter:

Rita Bernstein became a photographer after ending her law career. She turned to subjects close to her, often photographing her children and family friends. Here, a young woman stands in a domestic space, holding her hands to the sides of her face. She stands bare-chested, light from a window illuminating the lower portion of her torso.
