Description

Subject Matter:

This rare blue-and-white plate is decorted with five varieties of flowers in the center, including peony, lotus, pomegranate, orchid, and chrisanthemum blossoms. All these floral designs bear auspicious meanings for peacefulness and prosperity. The rim of the plate is decorated with flowers, folding textile wrapping, and partially covering the flowers, evoking a trompe-de-l'oeil effect.

Physical Description:

A blue and white plate with floral motifs. The central medallion is filled with floral sprays surrounded by foliate and floral borders.
