Description

Subject Matter:

Created in 1983 from May to October, Bell Pond was the first series that drew attention to DiRado's work. During this period, DiRado visited the pond almost every day and documented the people at the park. The series features portraits of adults and children in their leisure time at the city park. Bell Pond is located in Belmont Hill in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Physical Description:

A photograph of two girls standing in their bathing suits, their hair wet. The girl on the left wears a celtic cross around her neck and holds a cigarette to the other girl's mouth.
