Description

Subject Matter:

Towards the conclusion of World War II, Lopez's art shifted from folk-like scenes of Michigan and its residents to darker, sadder subjects and depictions. The soft face and hollow eyes of the unidentified girl in the drawing are similar to other paintings he did after 1946.

Physical Description:

A woman with a loose head wrapping stares downward and to her right. Her eyes are blank.
