Subject Matter:
Gold-weight in a geometric shape, this one in particular called a cruciform. Although they were produced from the sixteenth century on, they are not a common gold-weight form (cf. Sheales, African Goldweights; British Museum object number Af1922,1027.271).
Physical Description:
Gold-weight in the shape of a square with four raised notches running along each side.
