Subject Matter:
This print shows a man who appears to be a farmer dressed in bright and colorful clothing holds a scroll in one hand and a farming tool in another. Behind him is a poster with the word "steel" in the center. In the bottom left corner, are four Chinese characters which translates to "high production of steel and grain harvest." This is 1/2 of a set of prints that are promotional for The Eight Point Charter for Agriculture, which was drafted to increase agricultural production in China in the 1950s.
