Subject Matter:

Saito Kiyoshi was a 20th-century Sosaku-hanga artist, a movement that emphasized self-expression and the individual creation of prints. He issued his first prints in the now-famous "Winter in Aizu" series. This series was based on his hometown in Fukushima prefecture.

Physical Description:

This print depicts a woman in an orange dress reaching down toward the ground. Besides the area she is tending is a green plant. Next to her is a yellow window or screen with a butterfly in the upper right corner. There is a signature in the bottom left.
