Description

Subject Matter:

The series "Anatomy of Feelings" is comprised of etchings, most of them featuring nude figures with contorted or highly abstracted bodies. This work is number thirteen, of the fifty prints in the series. Emphasis is frequently placed on the sexual organs. The artist, Vladimir Yankilevsky was involved with the Soviet Nonconformist Art movement and often worked under a pseudonym to avoid punishment. Through several different series of prints, including "Anatomy of Feelings," Yankilevsky explores the relationship of people and their experiences in social spaces. 

Physical Description:

This etching shows a head in profile as if an x-ray is showing what is inside. The insides of the head are made up of various shapes and objects. The print is titled, numbered, signed and dated in pencil at the bottom of the page.
