Head of a Mountain Cow
Paul Klee
Description
This gentle evocation of a Swiss mountain cow seems to embody one aspect of the artist's late work. After returning to Switzerland in 1933, Klee eagerly sought to regain his Swiss citizenship and to lose himself in his art.He described his situation eloquently: "I work—in order not to have to cry"
