Subject Matter:

A scholarly official stands holding a plate with a scultpure on it. The crane on his robe represents longevity and the "double happiness" character on his robe symbolizes good luck. He is holding a plate with an animal sculpture, and above it is a cloud containing an unknown motif. There is a child behind him holding up a light with tassel decorations, and the Chinese characters on it translate to "a climb in official ranks." The clouds in the background symbolize heaven, showing that the main figure is a god.

Physical Description:

A human figure is dressed in an elaborate robe featuring a crane in the center and multiple "double happiness" characters. He is holding a small animal sculpture with a cloud above it and he is facing left. There is a child on his right, and the child is holding up a light with tassel decorations which features Chinese characters. The background is green with white cloud patterns.
