Subject Matter:

Copied from (1958/2.2)
Saito Kiyoshi was a 20th-century Sosaku-hanga artist, a movement that emphasized self-expression and the individual creation of prints. He issued his first prints in the now-famous "Winter in Aizu" series. This series was based on his hometown in Fukushima prefecture.

Physical Description:

This color woodblock print depicts a woman lying down and posing between seashells. The shells are outlined with brown but they don't match the color of the shell itself. There is a signature in the lower-left area.
