Subject Matter:
This work is an example of the artist's experiments with printmaking, which she began later in her artistic career. Through this process she developed a unique abstract style. Anni Albers was "a textile designer, weaver, writer, and printmaker who inspired a reconsideration of fabrics as an art form, both in their functional roles and as wallhangings." (Albers Foundation page, http://www.albersfoundation.org/artists/biographies/). This is reminiscent of her fabric designs.

This vertical print shows an abstract composition with a pattern of broad white strokes in a grid-like arrangement on a green background.
