Subject Matter:
After The Bikeriders series, Lyon decided to go South in search of a new project. He stopped in Knoxville, Tennessee, creating many unpublished works of the people in the town. Many of these images include young men and boys working on automobiles, or relaxing with friends in cars. In this image, one young man sits in the driver's seat, leaning back. In the foreground, another boy stands, looking to the right. He holds a small puppy close to his chest.
