Subject Matter:
Composition with Head in Left Profile was Kurt Schwitters' contribution to the portfolio published by the Bauhaus School titled New European Graphics, Portfolio III: German Artists. Schwitters was heavily involved in the Dada movement and published several pieces of poetry during the time he participated in creation of the portfolio.
Physical Description:
This abstract composition shows a loose collection of shapes, out of which appears the profile of a human head, showing the left side of the face. Around the head are arrows, circles with spokes, cross-hatched lines, a number four, and a heart.
