La Bourrine aux Cinq z'enfants shows a traditional style home of the Breton region of France and five children in the yard. Bourrine is the name for the thatched homes that are built from local natural resources in the marshes of Vendée, France. Auguste Louis Lepère was a French artist who explored many mediums but consistently depicted the French countryside and life in Paris. He is most well known for wood engravings, his favorite medium.
