Description

Subject Matter:

The simple sketch style of Huang Yue's painting is an interpretation of Huang's painting theory summarized as a book "The Twentyfour Tastes of Paintings". The use of light ink, the purity in style, and the originality in brush stroke are all important characters of a good painting. The volume produced by the arrangement of distant mountains, and leaning on right side of the composition are valued by the Qing dynasty literati painting theory.

Physical Description:

This painting (and the one adjacent) comes from an album of four landscape paintings.
