Description

Subject Matter:

The scene depicts a temporary merry-go-round that was installed for a period right next to the studio Villon occupied in Montmartre, Paris, at the beginning of the 20th century. This work is typical of the artist's early prints, focusing on capturing Parisian street life.

Physical Description:

A busy street scene, dominated by a small merry-go-round on top of a wagon. Two girls, one in blue and one in grey, ride brown and pale horses, respectively. There are buildings and other men and women in the background.
