Liber Studiorum. 73. Glaucus and Scylla
Joseph Mallord William Turner
Description
Turner's "Liber Studiorum" were prints made after his designs for landscape painting. Most of the prints were made with line etching by Turner, the plates were then handed over to other artists to have the mezzotint added. The "Liber" was Turner's attempt to classify different types of landscape into a codified system.
