Description

Subject Matter:

What are these creatures? They become recognizable when we realize the context of the situation: the waiter’s hand revealing what is on the platter and the human on the bib of the diner. A lobster dinner, reversed in a disquieting way. This is characteristic of Wilson’s cartoons, which often depict scenes of horror and fantasy; nightmares you hope to wake from.
