Description

Stevens executed this drawing as a twenty-one year old student at the studio of the Romantic painter Camille Roqueplan in Paris. Stevens' "académie" explores how the fall of light on the human body reveals its underlying structure. The model's stance and gesture mimic the classical orator's pose.
