Description

Subject Matter:

This work was part of Salvador Dalí's 1975 Imaginations and Objects of the Future portfolio. It contained ten prints with an introductory text by the artist that discussed the project's focus on new technologies' ability to create an alternate universe, especially through holograms.
In this print and collage, Dalì created a cyclops. Like some of the other works in this series, he engaged with the ideas of technology and its ability to change the way we see the world; making things visible that were once invisible.

Physical Description:

At the center of this print, there is a large bust in a variety of colors (orange, yellow, green, black, blue) and a kind of floating hat in brown and purple. The face is created by a series of collaged images. There is a mouth and one eye on the head and another collaged mouth sits at the edge of the figure's clothing, like a brooch. Coming out from the right side of the head, there is a line drawing of a woman's profile with lines emanating from her eyes and ear. In the background, there is a simple landscape. The print is signed (l.r.) and numbered (l.l.) in pencil.
