Description

Subject Matter:

Merlin is the famous wizard of the Arthurian cycle, identified with a small, fierce falcon, the Merlin. He is depicted here with scraggly hair, a long beard that consumes the lower half of his face, a tall hat, and a bird on his head. Baskin often featured people, both real and fictional in his prints.

Physical Description:

This print shows a close-up of the eyes of a human face with a bird perched on its head, both of which seem to be encased in a large, furry coat, hat, or tree.
