Subject Matter:

This print depicts Miroku Bosatsu (Maitreya Bodhisattva in Sanskrit) who is said to become the Buddha after Siddartha Gautama 5670 million years after Siddartha Gautama's death. Miroku waits in Tushita heaven for rebirth. This statue is found in the Chuguji temple in Nara and is considered a national treasure.

this print depicts a Buddhist statue. The figure is seated and holds a hand to his face. He faces the left and sits on a pedestal. The background is of wood grain and a signature with a red seal is on the bottom right.
